David W. Sharp, 58, of Olmsted, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 at his home.
Born April 1, 1960 in Cairo, Mr. Sharp worked 19 years at Southern Clay in Olmsted before it’s closing and then worked 18 years for the Village of Olmsted.
He was a Pulaski County Commissioner since Dec. 1, 2010.
He served on the board for Southern Seven Health Department and Southern Five.
Mr. Sharp was a 911 board member from the start.
He was a Pulaski County deputy coroner and also the fire chief in Olmsted since 1988, where he was a volunteer firefighter for Olmsted for over 40 years.
He was a lifetime member of Olmsted United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Starla Whiteside Sharp of Olmsted; one daughter, Ashley Hannan and husband Ryan of Anna; three grandsons, Nicholas, Tyler and Beckett Hannan; his parents, Charlie and Nancy Butler Sharp of Olmsted; one brother, Michael Sharp and wife Marci of Olmsted; two sisters, Cynthia Neely of Hollow Rock, Tennessee and Pamela Dennis of Olmsted; and several nieces and nephews.
A Firefighters Walk Thru Ceremony was held Monday at Caledonia Church in Olmsted, followed by the funeral service Tuesday at the church with Rev. Mike Sharp officiating.
Burial followed at Wyatt Cemetery near Grand Chain. Pallbearers were Curtis Marshall Jr., Bryant Nichols, Brian Curry, Bobby Dover, Chris Hill and Jason Grant.

Wilson Funeral Home of Karnak was in charge of arrangements.
