Dorothy Meinders-Green

Dorothy Meinders-Green, 85, of Metropolis, passed away Friday Dec. 21, 2018 at the Massac Memorial Hospital, she was youngest child of Otto and Verna Lynn Wymer.

She was born on July 23, 1933 in Massac County.  She graduated from the Metropolis High School in the class of 1950.  She was a member of the Unionville Christian Church and later became a member of the First Christion Church of Metropolis. On Oct. 28, 1950, she married Ralph a Meinders and to this union one daughter was born, Pamela.  Ralph preceded her in death in 1937 and on May 2, 1989 she married Loren G. green, He also preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter and son in Law, Pamela and Donnie L. Weaver, one granddaughter Shawnie Howard and husband Zach., One brother in Law Paul and Donna Meinders, one sister in law, Maraline Meyers.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by, two brothers and sisters in law, Troy and Maxine Wymer and William Wymer.  Two sisters in laws, Goldie L. Smith and Virginia Wymer.  Several nieces and nephews.

She was an employee of the Good Luck Glove Co. in Metropolis for 9 years, then at the City National Bank and branch for 53 years.

Funeral services was held  Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 at the First Christian Church, Metropolis, with   Pastor Keith Tilford officiating, burial followed in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be given to first Christian Church, 420 Catherine St. Metropolis, IL  62960.
