Michael Shawn Neill, 42, of Karnak, went missing on June 25, 2017 while camping near Grand Chain beside the Ohio River.  Mr. Neill was found near Urbandale on the banks of the river on May 14, 2018.

Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 15 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with Rev. Alan Milligan officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap.

Born Feb. 22, 1975 in Metropolis, Mr. Neill worked as a vintner at the Cache River Basin Winery in Belknap.  He had previously worked as a welder at Transcraft in Anna.

Survivors include his mother, Judy Bond Neill of Karnak; his aunts and uncles, Lora Colboth and husband Mike of Sumter, South Carolina, John Neill and wife Sue of Grand Chain, Raymond Neill and wife Irene of Aldrich, Missouri, Pat Temke and husband Lester of Karnak and Vernon Henry of Cypress.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Neill; his uncle, Darrel “Bondo” Bond; and his grandparents, Noah and Norma Slankard Bond and Henry and Twila Neill.

Memorials may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
