Nell Covington Royal, 103, of Camilla, Georgia, formerly of Metropolis, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham, Georgia.

Born Aug. 16, 1914 in Metropolis, Ms. Royal was a homemaker and was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors include her son, Richard Royal and wife Marilyn of Camilla; one daughter-in-law, Emily Royal of Columbia, South Carolina; five grandsons, Warren Royal and wife Terri, Gary Royal and wife Julie, David Royal and wife Christy, Judah Royal and wife Sharla and John Royal; five granddaughters, Terri Stumpe and husband Glenn, Krista Royal, Jenni Wright and husband Chris, Hannah Wheeler and husband Jason and Amy Urrutia and husband C.J.; nine great-grandsons, Tanner Stumpe, Bayley Wright, Peyton Wright, Brandon Royal and wife Rachael, Jason Royal, Jacob Royal, Nathan Royal, Samuel Wheeler and Dakota Post; nine great-granddaughters, Kendall Stumpe, Maci Royal, Sophie Wright, Anna Royal, Abigail Wheeler, Kaley Wheeler, River Wheeler, Zoe Wheeler and Saleena Post;  and two great-great-grandsons, Garrett Royal and Logan Royal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Covington and Cassie Riddle Covington; two sons, Donald Lee Royal and George Raiford Royal; one great-grandson, Austin Blake Royal; and two brothers, George Covington and John Covington; and one sister, Dorothy McConaughy.  

Funeral service was held Friday at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camella with Rev. Chad Boyd officiating.

Burial followed at Oakview Cemetery in Camilla.

Pallbearers were her great-grandsons, Tanner Stumpe, Bayley Wright, Peyton Wright, Brandon Royal, Jason Royal and Nathan Royal.  Honorary pallbearer was her great-great-grandson, Garrett Royal.
