At the quarterfinal round of the IHSA Football State playoffs, the southern end [extreme southern] of Illinois has a lone representative on the gridiron.

The Wildcats of Anna-Jonesboro surprised top seeded Breese Central Saturday 39-26 to move on to the quarterfinals.

Quarterback Brady Wright led the Wildcats with 204 yards of total offense as he passed for 94 yards and ran for 110 more and accounted for three touchdowns.
