Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, Tim Smith of Joppa and James Smith of Metropolis; one daughter, Linda Rodriguez and husband David of Metropolis; two grandchildren, Ashley Smith Miller and husband Kyle of Gulf Port, Miss. and Timothy A Smith Jr. and wife Alicia of Harrisburg; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Nichole Miller of Gulf Port and Timothy Orin Smith of Harrisburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Smith; and his parents, Arthur Ray and Quanita Faye Tyler Smith.
Graveside service was held Sunday at Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Barry Dummitt officiating.
