She's walked the line between Iowa and Nebraska; been to the Fargo, N.D. hometown of New York Yankees right fielder Roger Maris; viewed sunsets in Anchorage, Alaska and the Black Hills of South Dakota; walked with snakes in Omaha, Neb., deer in Deadwood, S.D., and black squirrels in Wyoming; witnessed the roar of waterfalls in Oregon and the tranquility of a lake on the Bozeman Trial in Montana; and much more.

On Nov. 18, Cassandra Curley's 2500-mile journey across the United States brought her to Metropolis.

A self-published author, Curley is walking 50 miles in each of the 50 states over a 50-week period to not only promote her book From Fear to Eternity: A Path to Peace, but to also, according to the mission statement on her website, "bring awareness to those open to seeing the world in a new and unified way — to invoke a willingness to achieve peace through our universal need for love, connection to one another and purpose."
