Born May 11, 1934 in Vienna, Mrs. Hester was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church near Cypress.
Survivors include one son, David Hester and wife Janet; her grandchildren, Paul Blankenship, Jason and Jolene Thimoleas, Heather Renee VanZile, Amanda Hester, Brandi Short, Brittany Johnson, Bridgett McMurtry and Bergendi Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Alyssia, Serenity and Devan VanZile, Sadie Rogers, Jayden Thimoleas and Aiden Hester; one son-in-law, Jim Blankenship; two sisters-in-law, Norma Hodge and Janice Huckelberry; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph E. and Dimple Comer Cheek; her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Ray Hester; two daughters, Lucinda Rae Thimoleas and Carla Jane Blankenship; one granddaughter, Diane Lee Blankenship; and three brothers, James Lloyd Cheek, Joseph Comer Cheek and Raymond Cheek.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Pastor Jay Franklin officiating. Burial followed at Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.
