Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of Waldo Baptist Church of Massac County, where she served the Lord by baking pies, taking meals to the sick and shut-ins of the church and by helping prepare and serve the funeral dinners at the church.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Kennedy and husband Kenneth of Metropolis; her son, Britt Neal Douglas and wife Rita of Metropolis; two grandsons, Christopher Britt Douglas and wife Crystal of Calvert City, Ky. and Timothy Edward Douglas and wife Angie of Golconda; one granddaughter, Kimberly Taylor and husband Russ of Metropolis; 10 great-grandchildren, Cody, Montana, Grace, Noah, Emily, Joshua and Victoria Taylor, all of Metropolis, Cadence and Paisley Douglas, both of Golconda, and Coraline Douglas of Calvert City; two sisters, Donna Burkhead and Eleanor Windhorst, both of Metropolis; one brother, Jim Fulkerson and wife Barbara of Humboldt, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roby and Elizabeth Cox Fulkerson; her husband, Edward Douglas; three infant great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Mae Steel, Rosalie Fulkerson, Virginia Bates and Lillian Miller; one infant sister; two infant brothers; and three brothers, Roby Fulkerson Jr., Robert Fulkerson and Floyd Fulkerson.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Waldo Baptist Church with Rev. Jack D. Russell and George Bates officiating.
Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Ralph Steel, George Bates, Russ Taylor, Cody Taylor, Montana Taylor and Christopher Douglas.Honorary pallbearers were Timothy Douglas, Kenneth Kennedy, Bill Fitch and Jerry Paschal.
