Brookport, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pell Cemetery in
Brookport with Rev. David W. Atwell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Richard Wooten, Alex Wooten, Casey Atwell, Dustin
Atwell, Brandon Heine and Larry Call.
Honorary pallbearers are Frank Copeland Jr. and Marine Sgt. Brad Atwell.
Mrs. Harmon died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at 12:37 a.m. at Massac
Memorial Hospital.
Residing in Brookport, she was born on March 26, 1935. She attended
the schools of Metropolis, graduating from Metropolis Community High
School in 1953.
Mrs. Harmon will be remembered as a
bookkeeper/teller, having retired from Downstate Bank in Brookport. She attended the Christian Church in Brookport.
She was one of eight children and was preceded in death by her
parents, John Francis and Geneva Schafter Francis; four brothers, John
Francis Jr., William Francis, Joe Francis and Stephen Francis; two
sisters, Sue Gagnon, and Wanda Banks; and one grandson, Joshua T.
Atwell.
To cherish her memory are two sons, Victor Atwell (Kimberlee) of
Kokomo, Ind. and David Atwell (Lisa) of Hickory, Ky.; one daughter,
Kathy Atwell-Wooten (Richard) of Brookport; one sister, Mary
Helen Francis Copeland; four grandsons, Marine Sgt. Brad Atwell (Danielle), Dustin Atwell (Abby), Alex Wooten and Casey G. Atwell; five
granddaughters, Erin Atwell, Lauren Atwell, Allie M. Atwell, Caitlin
Knisely and Hailey Knisely; and several nephews, nieces, great- and
great-great-nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Brookport Funeral Home.
