Beulah Mae Sturgeon, 85, of Metropolis, passed away at 4:25 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Beulah was a former resident of Pekin for many years before moving to the Metropolis area.

She was a bus monitor for handicapped children for over 10 years, assisting with the route for area schools.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by Virgie Franks of Amus, Okla., Mary and Kevin Kelch of Peoria, Patrick and Melanie Gordon and Cleta Boyd, all of Pekin, and James and Beatrice Gordon of Hillerman, in addition to all of the children who captured her heart. She was mom to many and loved by all. She has had many years of being “Gramcracker” to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved being Gramcracker and no matter how many more were added, she could always remember them by name.

Funeral service was held June 1 at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in rural Massac County.

Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Bailey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 695, Vienna, IL 62995, to be applied for funeral costs.
