Boyd was born Aug. 2, 1946 in Paducah to Abraham and Doris Hillebrand Bormann.
Mr. Bormann worked at EEI for 20 years and the National Guard for six years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.
He was a cowboy and enjoyed rodeoing. He married Martha Taylor on Aug. 4, 1972, and together they shared over 40 years of marriage.
Boyd’s love for nature and the simple life was evident to anyone who knew him.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Martha Bormann of Metropolis; his mother, Doris Wallace of Metropolis; one son, Tyson Bormann and wife Kara of Metropolis; one daughter, Abbey Kaylor and husband Chad of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Sophie May Bormann, Grady Lee Bormann, Bailey Lynn Bormann and Sadie Rose Kaylor; one brother, Gary Bormann and wife Deborah of Ayre, Mass.; one sister, Kathleen Trovillion and husband Bill of Kevil, Ky.; and two half brothers, Patrick Wallace of Metropolis and Russ Wallace of Little Rock, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Barbara Jones; and one nephew, Detrick Bormann.
Funeral service was held Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Metropolis, with Pastor Jeff Bealmear and Rev. Jon Cockrel officiating. Music was provided by Stecia Gregory.
Honorary pallbearers were Mickey Hendrix, Bruce Gillespie, David Park, Don Turner, Stan Chase, Kenneth Bormann, David Meng and Alan Cherry.
A private burial was held at IOOF Cemetery in Golconda.
