Budget, staffing on agenda

The state of the district’s budget and action regarding personnel dominated the March 26 agenda of the Joppa-Maple Grove school board meeting.

The meeting was well attended by staff, students and community members.

During the public comments, Robbie Adams spoke to the board regarding the upcoming eighth grade trip. Kenita Langston also asked for the board’s support in the efforts to stop the governor’s plan to consolidate the Illinois State Police Communications Centers. Several attending parents also asked questions of the board and Superintendent Steve Ptacek regarding proposed cuts in the school’s budget.
