Carbondale’s Lady Terriers won the Metropolis Regional Thursday night with an improbable fourth quarter comeback over a game Herrin Lady Tigers team.

Herrin was in control for most of the game and late in the third quarter actually looked like they were going to roll over the Lady Terriers.

But foul trouble for Herrin’s stellar point guard Tori Johnson spelled trouble and eventually doom for the Lady Tigers.

At the end of three periods, Herrin led 50-38 thanks to a Johnson-led 19-2 run, but when Johnson was whistled for her fifth foul midway through the final frame, things went south quickly for Herrin.
