The agenda was light as the Metropolis City Council met Monday night.

Aldermen David Daugherty and Richard Corzine were absent from the meeting.

The council:

• Approved the purchase of equipment and repairs for two snow plows at the cost of $1959.

• Approved the low bid from Chuck Short in the amount of $14,344 for the demolition of three properties — 304 E. Second St. and 306 E. Second St., which were bought by the city following the April flooding, and 1805 Baynes St., which was deeded to the city in place of condemnation procedures.

• After suspending the rules, adopted an ordinance authorizing the sale of municipally owned real estate. Larry and Rhonda Jenkins placed the winning bid of $2500 for 2013 Market St.
