With that piece of information, the city council during its meeting Monday voted to use $135,000 of its 2012 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) to fund the Old Marion Road project, along with the parking lot behind city hall.
The Old Marion Road project will be from the north side of the Weaver Creek bridge to Massac Junior High School.
City attorney Rick Abell noted the 12th Street project has an 80/20 match and that MFT funds can be used for the city match and because the work won't happen until next year, the remainder of the 2012 MFT funds can go toward projects for this year.
Alderman David Daugherty was absent from the meeting.
