Metropolis Police Officer Tim Davis says that when he and other police officers are dispatched to a call, they never really know what they are going to get until they arrive on the scene.

An example of that came on Feb. 4, at 2:55 a.m., when a 911 call was received regarding a woman going into labor in the parking lot of Cheers gas station.

"It's not the norm to be sent to a medical call," he said, noting the dispatcher sent him and another department officer to the call because they were nearby. An Illinois State Police officer also responded to the call.
