City's phone service to go to another provider

The Metropolis City Council voted at its recent meeting — held Oct. 11 due to Columbus Day — to move forward with changing phone services for the City of Metropolis as recommended by DJK Link.

The switch, according to Mayor Billy McDaniel, will be a money saver.

"We're hoping it saves us considerable amount of money a month. The proposal (DJK Link owner Ken Kovacs) gave us, it will save us several hundred dollars a month," McDaniel said.
