Corwin “Corky” Dewan King, 71, of Metropolis, passed died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

Mr. King was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, Corwin worked until retirement at Honeywell in Metropolis, then continued working at Mike Smith Toyota in Paducah.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge Post 91.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Bonnie; three children, Lisa Davis, Kelly King and Greg Esslinger; six grandchildren, Lyndsi Markus, Wendy Foster, Austin Abner, Cody Davis, Greg Esslinger Jr. and Dusty Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Olive and Hattie Markus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Evelyn Irby King; and one brother, Deon King.

Funeral service was held Sunday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Glenn Coram officiating.

Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites conducted. Pallbearers were Barry Davis, Chris Markus, Austin Abner, Cody Davis, Dusty Davis and Gregory Esslinger Jr.
