Massac County commissioners received some good news from Bill Gower, owner of Gower Insurance Agency, who has been handling the county's liability insurance.
Gower explained to the board the county's payroll is down and the claims history is better and after filling out some paperwork, the county is getting a $17,800 refund.
Gower gave the check and information about the refund to the board.
Following Gower was Massac County Treasurer Floyd Sullivan who distributed the financial report for the week. Over the past week the treasurer's office has received a total of $123,498 and after paying $16,085 in bills the county's general fund balance is $190,274.
