The ordinance states that with the rising cost of the county's health insurance premiums that all employees will be asked to pay 10 percent of the cost. The ordinance states the current cost of the premium per employee is $631.72 per month. Each employee would contribute at total of $63.18 toward the cost. The total cost would be broken down per pay period, with employees paying of $31.59 twice a month.
Massac County Treasurer Floyd Sullivan brought the board the county general's balance, which is $141,755 this week. Sullivan also noted the county's payroll was $110,649. He also indicated the treasurer's office had received about $61,000 in personal property tax replacement money, which helped bolster the general fund.
