Massac County commissioners heard some good news at Tuesday morning's meeting from Jeremy Billington of Billington Insurance Agency, who brought quotes to the commissioners regarding the county's life insurance policy.

Billington said he had a quote from Symetra for the exact same coverage the county has now for $510.30 per month. Billington pointed out the county has been paying $782.93 per month. The difference is $272.63 and when multiplied by 12 would be a savings of $3272 annually.

The commissioners, after reviewing the quote, approved a motion to switch the county's life insurance policy from Fort Dearborn to Symetra, effective for a Feb. 1 start date.
