Massac County Treasurer Floyd Sullivan explained to the board that after payroll, the county's general fund was left at negative $1366. However, Sullivan said that with the $25,639 reimbursement from the county highway department, the general fund balance was boosted back up to $24,272.
Sullivan also explained to the board he had received a reimbursement from the state for the Supervisor of Assessment's salary. However, he said he was notified that the state, due to budget cuts, had reduced the reimbursement by 14.9 percent.
