Massac County commissioners found out Tuesday morning the county was able to make its payroll.

Massac County Treasurer Floyd Sullivan explained to the board that after payroll, the county's general fund was left at negative $1366. However, Sullivan said that with the $25,639 reimbursement from the county highway department, the general fund balance was boosted back up to $24,272.

Sullivan also explained to the board he had received a reimbursement from the state for the Supervisor of Assessment's salary. However, he said he was notified that the state, due to budget cuts, had reduced the reimbursement by 14.9 percent.
