Danny was a proud veteran of the U.S Army, who served during the Vietnam War.
He retired from Fermi Lab after 40 years of service and was an avid Chicago Bears and NASCAR racing fan.
Danny loved fishing, hunting, drag racing and spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include his loving wife. Lillian Hamby Douglas; one daughter, Deana Miller and husband Bill; one son, Jeff Douglas and wife Dorene; two sisters, Donna Meinders and husband Paul and Vicki Blaylock and husband Lewis; six grandchildren, Carey, Steven, Garrett, Haley, Megan and Alexis; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Monday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Jack Russell officiating.
Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
