Born April 29, 1926 in Vienna, Mr. Sanders was a graduate of Karnak High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in World War II. Mr. Sanders retired as an independent truck driver. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, having been a member of the Belknap Masonic Lodge 822. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Sanders and wife Diane of Arlington, Washington and Danial Sanders and wife Marilyn of Columbus, Indiana; one sister, Anna Barnett and husband Charles of Karnak; two granddaughters, Daniel Sanders and Lori Morrison and husband Alan Morrison, all of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Wallace Sanders; his parents, Roscoe and Winifred McKenzie Sanders; four brothers, Bill, James, Harold and Jack Sanders; and three sisters, Virginia Snell, Evelyn Bishop and Betty Little.
At the family’s request, cremation was held, with services being held at a later date.
Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak was in charge of arrangements.
