She was born Aug. 13, 1933 to Benjamin Franklin and Thelma Yoacum Gamble.
Dolly was of the Baptist faith and was a very positive person; always looking at the bright side of things, including her health.
Dolly is survived by two sons, James Eddington Jr. and wife Kim of Karnak and Darrell Eddington of Metropolis; two daughters, Tammie Eddington of Metropolis and Tonya Lee of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Jessica Eddington and David Kelso, both of Metropolis, and James “J.R.” Eddington and Kayla Eddington, both of Karnak; one great-grandson, Levi James Eddington of Karnak; two brothers, Bill Cohoon and wife Doris of Joppa and Floyd Cohoon of Metropolis; one sister, Jo Ann Vanzant of Perry, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Thelma Eddington; and three brothers, James Gamble, Bob Cohoon and Eugene Gamble.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Pastor Ken Sharp officiating.
Burial followed at Masonic #10 Cemetery in New Columbia.
Pallbearers were Darrell Eddington, Matt Hall, James “J.R.” Eddington, Ralph Lee, David Kelso, Justin Phillips and Levi Eddington.
