Funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Trad York officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
Born on April 12, 1927 in Almo, Mrs. Osterman retired from Western Union where she worked as an administrative assistant for many years. She was a resident of Tallahassee for many years, later moving to the Havana Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include her nephew, Steve Houston and wife Sune of Brookport; one niece, Barbara Godsey of Madison Heights, Mich.; three great-nieces, Brenda Paye of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Donna Hughes of Franklin, Tenn. and Susan Harville of Brookport; one great-nephew, Timothy Houston of Franklin; three stepsons, James Osterman and wife Kathie and Alan Osterman and wife Margo, all of St. Clair Shores, and Mel Osterman and wife Lori of Brighton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph James Osterman; one son, Sherburne Thompson; her parents, Joseph and Dona Hale, and three sisters, Essie Graham, Frocye Hale and Lala Houston.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
