"I'm looking forward to enjoying my retirement and spending more time with my family," said Sheppard. "The downside is I will truly miss the dedicated and talented Joppa staff. After 22 years, these folks have become my second family. As Joppa continues to work towards making it to the other side of the economic downturn, I'm confident in Chris' abilities and know I leave you in good hands," said Sheppard about his impending retirement.

"I would like to wish Bill all the best as he and his family embark on the next chapter of their lives. I have worked with Bill for a number of years and respect what he has been able to accomplish at Joppa during his tenure," Iselin said. "Since the economic downturn, our rallying point in AER has been to focus on business decisions that will help us get to the other side when wholesale power prices eventually recover. I am focused on picking up where Bill leaves off and help lead EEI to the other side with prudent business decisions and with the help of the dedicated team of professionals Bill has assembled over the years."
AER owns 80 percent of Electric Energy, Inc., which is the owner of the Joppa energy center in southern Illinois.
