Born June 7, 1947 near Karnak, Mrs. Averitt was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include daughters, Kay Jameson and husband Darrell and Janice Kinsey and husband Edward, all of Metropolis, Angie Gullett and husband Billy of Nebraska and Theresa Humphrey and husband Ron of Wayland, Mich.; her sons, Ronnie Averitt and wife Jenny of Metropolis and Allen Wynn Estel and wife Shanon of Cave-In-Rock; 18 grandchildren, Brooklynn Estel, Hailee Estel, Collin Estel, Macee Estel, Caitlin Humphrey, Sean Humphrey, Kelsey Humphrey, Thomas Rattliff Jr., Edward Kinsey III, Isaiah Kinsey, Aaron Kinsey, Kaden Kinsey, Donald Lee Jameson, David Jameson, Bonnie Lynn Meyers, Cory Meyers, Jessica Averitt and Douglas Wedger; three brothers, Herman Meyers of Belknap, William Meyers of Metropolis and Bobby D. Meyers of Vienna; three sisters, Rosie Easley of Joppa, Betty Joiner of Metropolis and Wilma Black of Newport, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Joseph and Violena Hardin Meyers; her husband of 45 years, William Benjamin Averitt Jr.; one daughter, Tina Marie Averitt; one grandson, Shawn McClain; two brothers, Chuck Meyers and Larry Joe Meyers; and two sisters, Lillian Reagan and Spring Meyers.
A graveside service was held Monday at Berea Cemetery, southeast of Vienna, with Pastor Richard Swiney officiating.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Bailey Funeral Home of Vienna was in charge of arrangements.
