Floyd Wayne Lewis, 66, of Metropolis, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at the home of his sister, with his family at his side.

The son of Leland “Bugs” and Louise Martin Lewis, Floyd was an Army veteran and retired from Electric Energy Inc. of Joppa

Floyd is survived by two daughters, Tammy Oliver of Metropolis and Tara Combs of Calvert City, Ky.; a special friend, Rhonda Lewis of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Jessica Gibson, Jordan Oliver, Taylor Bynum and Zac Bynum; two great-grandchildren, Jace and Noah Gibson; two stepgrandchildren, Austin and Dillion Combs; and two sisters, Mary Crider of Paducah and Sandra Carnes of Metropolis.

Beside his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Dennis “Dino” Lewis.

Funeral service was held Monday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating.

Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites conducted. Pallbearers were James Oliver, Mike Combs, Nathan Gibson, Dennis Wayne Lewis, Jeremy Stafford and Anthony Woods. Honorary pallbearers were J.B. Combs, Kerry Crider and Michael Wayne Hillebrand.
