Massac Unit One School District faces litigation in U.S. District Court in Benton following a lawsuit filed on March 27 by a woman who alleges a former Unit One teacher molested her when she was a student at Franklin Elementary School.

The suit is against the school district and four individuals, William Hatfield, Donald Smith, Reuben Bremer and Darryl Bentson.

The victim, plantiff, Jane Doe 77, a female born in 1977, alleges her teacher, Bentson, sexually assaulted her at the school in 1985.
