Fred Dickson Yocum, 78, of Lighthouse Point, Fla. died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011 after a five-year battle with cancer.

Mr. Yocum grew up in Chicago. He moved to Cassville, Wis., where he married Eleanor Cook and raised three children, Dawn, Fred and Todd. He later moved to south Florida.

Survivors include his brother, Thomas Arnold Yocum of Cassville; his three children, Dawn Michelle Lomas of Lancaster Wis., Fred David Yocum of Metropolis and Todd Arnold Yocum of Paducah; their mother, Eleanor Reinecke of Lancaster, Wis.; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Dixon and Catherine Emma Bassett Yocum; and one brother, Robert Edward Yocum.

There was no funeral service. Burial will be held at a later date at Ridgewood Cemetery in Chicago.

Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah was in charge of local arrangements.
