Born April 26, 1926 in Golconda to Roy William and Ethel Bell Ramsey Alley, Freida was raised in Golconda.
She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Hancock Fabrics in Paducah for several years.
She was a member of Waldo Baptist Church and accepted the Lord as her savior at the age of 15.
Freida is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Franklin Barger of Brookport; her daughter, Janet Taylor and husband John of Brookport; her two grandsons, Jim Taylor of Bradley, Calif. and Jeff Taylor of Brookport; her four great-grandchildren, Noah Taylor of Metropolis and Faith Taylor, Gracelyn Taylor and Trinity Taylor, all of Lake City, Ky.; her two sisters, Ruby Alley of Rockford and Evelyn Leonard of Paducah; her brother, James Alley of Indian Trails, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Freida was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margie L. Kluge and Imogene Threlkeld; and two brothers, Otis M. Alley and Charles W. Alley.
Graveside service was held Friday at New Liberty Cemetery in Pope County with Rev. Frank Forthman officiating. Pallbearers were John Taylor, Jim Taylor, Jeff Taylor and Charlie Peppersack.
