Born Aug. 23, 1945 in Metropolis, Mr. Douglas retired after 23 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Chrisman American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Deanne Marie Schalow Douglas; three daughters, Krista Krabel and husband Rob of Chrisman, Kimberlee Jones and husband Adam Shewey of Paris and Karrin Bertelli and husband Butch of Lafayette, Ind.; two brothers, Monroe and Danny Wayne Douglas; five sisters, Nancy Parker, Debbie Anderson, Dorthy Harville, Sharon King and Darla Heflin; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Nellie Pullem Douglas; one brother; and one sister.
Funeral service was held Sunday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. A private burial will be held at National Cemetery in Danville.
Memorials may be made to Carle Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
