Each year in Metropolis, the second weekend in June is devoted to the legendary character that stands for “Truth, Justice and the American Way."

Even as the celebration is centered around Superman, Metropolis’ most famous son will be sharing the spotlight with several other special guests.

Superman Celebration co-chair Karla Ogle announced two guests — Smallville’s John Glover and Superboy's Gerard Christopher — are confirmed to be a part of the 34th annual Superman Celebration June 7-10.

Christopher is returning to Metropolis. He first visited 1995.

Christopher took over the role of Superboy in the Viacom television series The Adventures of Superboy, which ran internationally from 1988 to 2000.

He would later become both a writer and producer on the series as well as playing the lead role of Superboy and his alter ego Clark Kent.

Christopher's early career was in modeling worldwide with Wilhelmina Models. He guest starred on Days of Our Lives, Sunset Beach and Melrose Place.

Glover joins a growing number from the Smallvillle cast to visit the Superman Celebration.

Glover appeared in 145 episodes of Smallville from 2001-11, portraying Lionel Luthor, the creator of LuthorCorp and father to Lex Luthor, Clark Kent's former friend turned nemesis who was portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum, who came to the celebration in 2006.

Smallville isn't Glover's only connection to the comic book world. He voiced the Riddler and Edward Nigma in  The New Batman Adventures in 1997, again voiced the Riddler in Batman: The Animated Series and in 1997's Batman and Robin portrayed Dr. Jason Woodrue.

Glover's resume also includes numerous appearances on the stage — from The Importance of Being Earnest to Love! Valour! Compassion!, for which he won a Tony — and was nominated for the 2009 Tony Award for best performance for a featured actor in a play for Waiting for Godot.

He has received five Emmy nominations and has appeared in over 35 films including Payback, RoboCop 2, Scrooged and Annie Hall.
