Born Oct. 4, 1928, Mrs. Hicks was the owner of Rosebud Grocery Store.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Hicks; one daughter-in-law, Georgia Hicks; three grandchildren, Michelle Stearns and husband Terry, Larry Hicks and wife Cheryl and Herman Hicks; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Welda Harding.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kestner Hicks; her parents, Cora and Vaughn Parkinson; one son, Phillip Hicks; two brothers, Archie Parkinson and Laurel “Bud” Parkinson; and one sister, Allene Jennings.
Funeral service was held Thursday at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda. Burial followed at Waltersburg Cemetery.
