Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Miller Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Buchanan officiating. Music will be provided by Karen Wemhoener, pianist.
Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Kelly Glass, Mark Kennedy, Herman Fulgham, John Roberts, Helton Hulsey and Herschell Haynes.
Mrs. Strandridge was a member of First Baptist Church in Metropolis, where she attended the Faith Sunday school class and was active in the Women’s Missionary Union. She was also a member of the White Shrine and attended Happy Hearts Senior Center. She was a retired payroll clerk, homemaker and, in her later years, worked for the Green Thumb Program at Fort Massac State Park.
Survivors include one daughter, JoEllyn Davis of Metropolis; one stepdaughter, Dixie June Smith and husband Jeff of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters, Julie Davis of Brookport and Jensen Davis of Champaign; two great-grandsons, Bryce and Cole Walker of Brookport; four stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; one niece, Brenda Griffith of Fairfield; and two nephews, Brent Inglis of Grayville and Gary Springer of San Francisco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ray and Lou Ella Henley Teague; her husband, Ralph Gipson Standridge; three sisters, Marie Teague, Lela Springer and Bessie Lee Inglis; three brothers, Woodrow Teague, Laverne Teague, Cleo Teague; and one nephew, Ronnie Inglis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to the funeral hour at the funeral home.
