Irene was a lifelong resident of Metropolis and graduated from Metropolis High School in 1953. She was a member of the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Irene was a housewife, and she wore out two or three cars hauling her kids to school or to athletic events. She wanted to know where they were and what they were doing.
Irene Meadows was united in marriage to Mr. Ambus Bradley Jr. on Jan. 1, 1960, and together they raised three children.
Besides her husband, other survivors include two daughters: LaDawn Bradley and Michelle Bradley, both of Metropolis; one son, Craig Allen Bradley and wife Leslie of Karnak; three grandsons, Shayne Bradley and wife Rachel, Ryan Bradley and Ethyn Bradley. all of Karnak; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ozie Bowden Meadows; and one infant brother, Frankie Eugene.
Funeral service was held Sunday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Roy Meadows officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Choate.
