Born Dec. 9, 1937, Ms. Spencer was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Dana Jones and Lori Spencer, both of Metropolis; seven grandchildren, Wesley Puhl, Diane Chandler and husband Doug, Frank Henderson and wife Jennifer, Donnie Spencer and wife Heather, Mary Etherton, Ashley Williamson and husband Chad and Nate Jones; and eight great-grandchildren, Hannah Etherton, Jalynn Henderson, Tyler Etherton, Jaxon Henderson, Austin Etherton, Jordyn Henderson, Drake Williamson and Aubrey Williamson.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Spencer; and her parents, to Harold and Mary Shanks Mundt.
Graveside service was held Tuesday at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Frank Forthman officiating.
Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home of Metropolis was in charge of arrangements.
