Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Benton City Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and employed by River City Motor Sports. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Massac County High School, was a graduate of Lone Oak High School and attended Shawnee Community College.
He was an accomplished baseball and football player, playing on American Legion Post 31 state championship team in 1994, where he received the most valuable player award.
Survivors include his daughter, Isabella Grace Taylor; his parents, Susan and Jimmy Gentry and John Taylor; one brother, Nathan Taylor and wife Jenny; one sister, Brooke Clanton and husband Will; his grandparents, Dean and Sofie Morris; three nephews, Caden and Finley Taylor and Gentry Clanton; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sue Morris, Velma and Vance Taylor and Thelma and Noah Gentry.
