Born in Metropolis on June 12, 1940, Mr. Leek was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, teacher and worked in the children’s church. He retired from Electric Energy Inc. of Joppa in 2002 after 32 years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Leek and companion Rhonda Light and Charles Thomas Leek and wife Nancy, all of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Kaley Leek, Kensey Leek, Andrew Leek and Rachael Leek; one great-grandson, Case Wesley Korte; four sisters, JoAnn McNichols and husband Robert of Metropolis, Joy Stokes and husband Allan of Madisonville, Ky., Jannie Whitaker and husband Phillip of Hopkins, Ky. and Jacqueline Bird and husband Steve of Hopkinsville, Ky.; five brothers, John Leek and wife Deloris, Joe Leek and wife Pat, Jim Leek and wife Lynn, Jeff Leek and wife Linda and Jack Leek and wife Sheila, all of Hopkinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Leek; and his parents, Cecil and Eva June Senoff Leek.
Graveside service was held Monday at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Don LaBrot officiating.
Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home of Metropolis was in charge of arrangements.
