Survivors include his wife, Jessica Van Meter of Naples; one brother, Arch Van Meter of Barrington; one sister, Suzanne Van Meter Stone of Marco Island, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Beth Van Meter of Barrington; and nieces and their children in Colorado and New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lillian Van Meter; and his brother, Ronald David Van Meter.
Memorial services are being planned in Marco Island and Illinois.
