Josephine “Jo” Harper, 86, of Paducah, formerly of Metropolis, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at New Haven Assisted Living.

Mrs. Harper was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.

She was a former employee of Claussner Hosiery, Gore’s Supermarket and Lourdes hospital, where she worked in the environmental service department.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim Lindsey and husband Charles of Paducah; one son, Bobby Harper and wife Paula of Paducah; one brother, Wayne Rixie and wife Betty of Whitehouse, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Jordan Lindsey, Alexis Lindsey, Scott Harper, Shane Harper and Stacy Harper; two great-grandchildren, Austin Harper and Brianna Harper; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Odell Harper; her parents, William Dugan and Lutie Slankard Rixie; one sister, Freda Bell; and two brothers Andrew Rixie and Bill Rixie.

Funeral service was held Sunday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Fred French officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
