With wins over Harrisburg, Murphysboro and Benton, the Massac County’s Lady Patriots ran their unbeaten string to 12.

The ladies got a solid 6-1 win over an improved Harrisburg team on April 2 then shellacked Murphysboro 16-0 on April 5 and struggled a little in a 7-3 win over Benton on Monday.

In the home win over Harrisburg, Jordyn Smith’s two-run double highlighted a four-run third inning and the ladies tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth innings for the 6-1 win.

Lefthander Kaylee Childers limited the Harrisburg Lady Bulldogs to four hits — one a booming, literally, homerun off the scoreboard in the top of the sixth for her eighth win of the season.

Speedster Jessie Lamb went two for three and swiped three bags in the win.
