In wins over Goreville, Benton and Anna-Jonesboro the Lady Patriots have found their misplaced hitting shoes.

An 8-5 win over Goreville, a 14-0 whitewashing of Benton and a 10-5 victory over Anna capped off a good week for the Lady Pats.

The win over Goreville was a “come from behind-er” of the first degree as the ladies put up six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to erase a 5-2 deficit.

Jordyn Smith and Gracyn McBride were the offensive stars as Smith went 3 for 4 with a pair of run producing doubles, and McBride homered and doubled in her last two at bats. Sydney Boyd was the winning pitcher for Massac.

The ladies followed that offensive performance with a 14-0 shellacking of Benton.

Last Thursday, the ladies spotted A-J two first inning runs on a Wildcat homer, then roared back with 10 unanswered runs to take a 10-2 lead into the sixth inning before Anna put up three more tallies to make the final margin 10-5.

Jessie Douglas was the big bat on Thursday as she went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Emilee Cato also had a pair of hits in the win. Brittany McFall was the winning pitcher as the ladies ran their record to 14-6.
