Massac County’s Lady Patriots put together a pair of wins last week with a Monday triumph over a good Lone Oak team and an absolute spanking of Harrisburg on Tuesday.

After a somewhat disappointing showing in the Carbondale tournament, the trip across the river to Lone Oak for Monday night’s encounter with the Lady Flash promised to be challenging. But the girls rose to the challenge and posted a 61-56 win.

With a record of 15-4 going into the game and one of the region’s better players in Haley Boyd, the Flash’s up-tempo game could have been problematic.

Not to worry — Lauren Bunting came up big with 16 points and her 13-rebound performance helped the Lady Pats to a 37-17 edge on the boards.
