Ninety percent of the time, one individual can’t beat a balanced team effort. Any sports fan knows this. But occasionally one solitary performance is so compelling that the individual lifts his or her team to victory.

Such was the case at the IHSA Class A state golf championship tournament.

Normal’s Katherine Hepler dominated the field and provided her team with enough firepower to lift them to the title.
