Massac County’s Lady Patriots saw action only once last week, but they made it count with a big 46-37 win over a resurgent Benton Rangerette team.

Benton was coming off a huge win over previously unbeaten Sesser-Valier.

Benton roared back from a 14-point halftime deficit against the Lady Devils to claim a 51-49 over Rick Metcalf’s highly regarded Sesser-Valier-Waltonville team.

Benton also handed a much improved Harrisburg team a loss on Thursday night.

Massac beat the Rangerettes at their own game Tuesday night with tough, physical defense and deadly free throw shooting.
