Massac County’s golf teams are off to their usual solid start.

The Patriots took a three way match at Harrisburg with the host Bulldogs and Mt.Carmel. The boys shot a team total 140 to the host team’s 145. Mt. Carmel came in at 159.

Massac’s Luke Weineke tied with Harrisburg’s Ben Fowler at 33 for medalist honors. Brock Burnham and Jon Duley each fired 35s, and freshman Brock Willmes didn’t show any signs of nervousness with a 37.

The boys recorded a second place finish in the 17-team Anna-Jonesboro Invitational held at Union County Country Club. Harrisburg rebounded from the loss to the Pats to shoot a 267 over the Union County Country Club track, while Massac came in with a team score of 274.
